Inlet Louvers

Louvers are used on the air inlets of cooling towers to keep the circulating water inside the cooling tower. 

L S Enterprise LLC offers two different types of air inlet louvers: cellular louvers and blade louvers.

Expert Guidance on Louver Selection for Best Fit and Performance

Water is a precious resource. In addition to the cost of having to replace water that splashes out from the air inlets, the circulating water contains chemicals and other substances that can be harmful to equipment and the environment. Water splashing out of air inlets during winter conditions can cause ice problems that can range from nuisance situations to true dangers of collapse if the ice build-up is large enough. We know the different types of louvers used on various cooling towers, and we understand the impacts on performance between them.

CL80

As the latest design of a cellular louver, the CL80 offers improvements in splash-out reduction, light penetration, and application flexibility. Its nesting design prevents air, water, and light from bypassing between adjacent modules. With a design team led by Bill Miller, the specially designed flute geometry was based on use of CFD and CAD systems that were backed up by rigorous testing. The result is a louver design that balances pressure drop with a pathway that forces water to impact on the cellular walls and drain back into the cooling tower. Its refined flute geometry also provides a barrier to sunlight penetration for many more hours of the day compared to prior cellular louvers. The CL80 is available in both 2.5” [63.5mm] and 3.2” [81.3mm] air travel depths, and its standard module width of 16” [406.4mm] is often a better fit for many factory-assembled towers.

CL100

The CL100 is a field-proven product with decades of use on towers of all shapes and sizes. With its low pressure drop and cellular design, the CL100 provides a cost-effective solution to limit splash-out.

Metallic Inlet Louvers

Metallic inlet louvers are blade louvers made from 304SS and are ideal for non-combustible and/or high temperature applications. With their patent-pending design, they provide great corrosion-resistant performance that will last the life of your tower. They are available in both 2.5” [63.5mm] and 3.2” [81.3mm] air travel depths.
