Matt Smith

Managing Partner

After receiving a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Florida in 1976, Matt started his career as a research and development engineer for Munters Corporation. Matt was fortunate to apply his engineering skills to many different areas including production optimization, quality control, research, product development, application engineering, and finally director of sales.

After 10 years it was time for change, and Matt formed L. S. Enterprises, a sole proprietorship, to provide engineering services and products to a wide variety of industries. Water cooling towers, air pollution control, evaporative (adiabatic) cooling systems, recirculating aquaculture systems, public aquarium life support systems, wastewater treatment systems, and other diverse industries were some of the areas that benefited from our diverse portfolio of products. Matt is a member of American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AICHE), Aquaculture Engineering Society (AES), the Cooling Technology Institute (CTI), Florida Aquaculture Association (FAA), and World Aquaculture Association (WAS).

Bill Miller

Managing Partner

Bill spent over 21 years employed at Brentwood Industries, Inc. in a number of different positions, the last one being Director of Application Engineering. In that position, Bill was in charge of Brentwood’s Corporate R&D and Product Development, and he was the Global Technical Lead for application of cooling tower products for customer service and sales support. During Bill’s tenure as Director of Application Engineering, he was able to drive the development of the latest products debuted by Brentwood in the past few years, including some for which he is listed as a co-inventor on the patents. Bill was also the lead liaison between Brentwood and the Cooling Technology Institute (CTI), where he presented and authored/co-authored several technical papers over the years. At L S Enterprise LLC, Bill continues his membership and participation with CTI where he is currently the Vice-Chair of the R&D Committee and is a voting member of several documentary committees.

Bill is a Penn State alumnus with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering where he was admitted to Tau Beta Pi, the National Engineering Honor Society. He is also a licensed Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and he is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and World Aquaculture Society (WAS).
