Our original website biofilters.com launched in 1998. It was an important resource for those who were designing or building Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS). Biofilters.com presented general information about biofiltration and packed columns for gas stripping in the format of technical papers. It also provided design guidelines for trickling filters, submerged filters, CO2 strippers, and other important unit operations for RAS designers and owners. Since the use of structured media is essential to achieve optimal performance in RAS, comparisons with older technologies, such as random dumped media, provided insightful differences. Biofilters.com also included dimensional information and specifications for the various products we offer. One of the key features of biofilters.com was the inclusion of data (based on L. S. Enterprise’s own testing) of different nozzles to facilitate the design of proper water distribution, since proper water distribution is essential to achieve full performance from any packed column.
However, L S Enterprise LLC is about more than just biofiltration. While our new website incorporates our biofiltration business and the various items mentioned above, it also presents and supports the many other markets that we have served for over 38 years. This includes the major portion of our business: the cooling tower industry.
